Delaware Energy Assistance Program
The Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) will help lower income residents that need help in meeting the increasing cost of home energy used for heating and cooling their place of residence. State and federal income eligibility standards apply in order for assistance to be provided. Both renters and homeowners may receive help with paying heating bills.
Benefits will be paid to vendors for all cooling and heating services, including electricity, oil, kerosene, gas, wood, and coal. Although the assistance program is not designed to pay for all heating bills, it will provide limited help and an important financial supplement that will help preserve the health of the family. In addition, assistance for home cooling bills is provided during the hot summer months. The Crisis Supplemental component of this program will provide immediate assistance with bills to any eligible households in an emergency or crisis situation.
Chesapeake Utilities - Sharing Program The Sharing Program will assist the disabled, elderly, and limited or fixed income households with winter heating bills.
Delmarva Power (Conectiv) - Good Neighbor Fuel Fund Conectiv matches customer contributions for paying heating bills with a donator.
