More Heating Aid For Massachusetts

The Bush administration released over $40 million in emergency heating aid and relief to 11 states, including nearly $6 million for Massachusetts and $900,000 for Rhode Island, to be used to help poor people and those struggling with high heating bills.

Federal officials stated they want to ensure families are protected during the coldest time of the year.

“Winter weather many have a devastating impact on struggling and low-income families,” U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said in a statement. “These funds will help many Americans with paying heating bills and staying warm.”
